UK Coaching, the UK-registered charity leading the development of coaching, has agreed a ten-year lease at 2 City Walk in Leeds.
2 City Walk, located in the South Bank area of Leeds, is a landmark office development providing almost 64,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. UK Coaching has signed for 5,489 sq ft on the first floor.
The office was acquired by Richard Ashmore at RA Real Estate who is currently advising UK Coaching on their property strategy and has also project managed the fit out of the new offices.
Commenting on the deal, Richard said, “2 City Walk is a superb office building and will provide a great new home for UK Coaching.
“South Bank, one of the largest regeneration initiatives in the country, has transformed over recent years to become an exciting destination for business and leisure.
“It’s proximity to the new HS2 station makes 2 City Walk a fantastic base for occupiers who need good connectivity to London and the UK’s major cities.”
Neil Ashton, Chief Operating Officer at UK Coaching said:
“The pandemic has made us all question what is important to us and UK Coaching is no different. We too have been rethinking what is important for coaches, coaching and our staff, and how we can do more to help. Our sector was already becoming more digitally centric and whilst we had started our own journey, the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the process.
“The move will, ultimately, stand us in good stead for the future; allowing us to be agile in an ever changing economic and social climate and deliver on our promise of being here for the coach. We look forward to moving into 2 City Walk. The new environment will provide inspiration and promote innovation and will be a fantastic and vibrant new central Leeds base.”
The last 12-months have had a significant impact on the nation’s 3 million strong coaching workforce and the activity habits of tens of millions of people. Sport England’s new 10-year strategy set out how the sport and physical activity industry will keep ‘movement, sport and activity central to lives of everyone’ in these uncertain times and beyond. It is UK Coaching’s belief that great coaches will be central to achieving this aim and bringing communities back together post-coronavirus.
